Paphos is probably most famous for its mosaics and at the House of Dionysus you can see some of these. They include Dionysus offering grapes to King Ikarios, Zeus abducting Ganymede and Orpheus playing his lire. A second place to see mosaics is the House of Aion where mosaics show the birth of Dionysus dating back to the 5th century. The House of Theseus shows us of the wealth of the Romans who occupied Cyprus at the time. Here you will find renderings showing Theseus’s fight with the Minotaur in the Labyrinth. All the mosaics that have been found in Paphos are said to be the finest mosaics that have been discovered.
A visit to the Tombs of the Kings is something that should not be missed. These tombs were started in the 3rd century BC and here you can also see the remains of the seven aisled basilica Chrysopolitissa which is said to have been built by St. Paul.
Another excellent place to visit is the Archaeological Park and here you will find wild flowers and plants not to mention Cyprus orchids.
