Paphos in June
June in Paphos sees summer weather with temperatures beginning to climb. Summers in Cyprus are very hot and dry and from June right through until September you can expect this glorious weather. Most people tend to start their holidays from June onwards where they can escape the dismal weather that they get at home.
Summer in Paphos is the busiest tourist season and this is when the temperatures are highest and beach and water activities come alive. The beaches are busy, the restaurants are starting to fill and everywhere is busy and packed with tourists.
In June you can expect to see temperatures reaching into the early 30’s and this is perfect for lazing at the beach or exploring the many sites that Paphos has to offer. If you are looking for cool breeze the sea is the place to be as there is always a slight breeze here which helps to take the edge off the searing sun. The Troodos Mountains tend to be much cooler and here you can go biking, hiking, and explore the many walking trails that are on offer.
If you intend to explore some of the archaeological sites around Paphos, this is probably best done in the morning time or in the late afternoon as you will avoid the midday sun. Remember to wear and hat and use good sun screen.
For wildlife lovers June is a great month and you can see two endangered species of sea turtle laying their eggs on the beaches. These turtles lay their eggs in the sand between June and October and if you wish to see then you can book a tour and join a group to watch them.
Other activities during your stay in Paphos could include windsurfing, waterskiing, snorkelling, and scuba diving. There are a number of diving school and experts are always available to show you the ropes. There are also some excellent dive locations and you can explore ship wrecks and much more.
June in Paphos is the beginning of the busy period and like most sun holidays there will be something to keep you entertained no matter what time of day it is.
