There are a number of beaches in Paphos but the most popular beach has to be that of Coral Bay which is located approximately 5 miles north of Paphos. There are miles of golden sandy beaches along this area where you will also find clear calm waters. Six of the beaches in Paphos were awarded Blue Flags in 2004. These beaches are Pachyammos, Vrysoudia A, Vrysoudia B, Alykes, Municipal Bath, and Farros. The Blue Flag award is an honor and means that these beaches have met some very stringent criteria which include management of the beach, beach safety, and the quality of the water. When you see a beach with a Blue Flag it means that the beach is a joy to visit and you can let your children play without having to worry too much.
Coraly Bay beach is considered to be the best beach near Paphos and indeed in all of Cyprus. It can be reached easily by car or bus. This area is a beautiful horseshoe shaped bay and because of its gradual slopes the fun children have is endless. Many of the beaches in Paphos also offer water sports including jet skiing, parasailing, snorkeling, diving, and fishing. You can also try out waterskiing and windsurfing at Coral Bay.
